The US will not take new measures against Russia while Europe continues to buy oil from it, – Rubio

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in an interview with Fox News that Donald Trump’s administration is not inclined to impose new sanctions on Moscow while US allies in Europe are purchasing large volumes of Russian oil and gas.

“They [the European Union countries – ed.] are demanding all this from us [to impose new sanctions against Russia – ed.], but there are countries in Europe that are still buying huge amounts of oil and natural gas from Russia. So, I think it is important that they take action,” said Marco Rubio.

According to the US Secretary of State, Donald Trump has made “the most effort” to resolve the Ukrainian conflict.

Earlier, Bloomberg reported that the European Union plans to impose restrictive measures on oil supplies from Russia to Hungary and Slovakia via the Druzhba pipeline.
