Switzerland to participate in NATO military exercises

The Swiss Army, together with military personnel from 12 countries, will take part in the annual NATO Tiger Meet aviation exercises, which will be held from September 22 to October 3 in Portugal. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the country.

According to the Swiss military department, the purpose of the exercises is to develop the combat skills of the participants, strengthen cooperation between the various air forces of the alliance and increase their defense capabilities.

The Swiss Ministry of Defense noted that the country is represented at the exercises with five F/A‑18 fighter jets. The pilots will practice planning and conducting joint air missions in difficult conditions.

In addition, in 2025, in addition to Switzerland and Portugal, Austria, Great Britain, Germany, Greece, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Turkey, France and the Czech Republic will participate in the exercises.

Earlier, Switzerland expanded the list of sanctions against Russia, adding 14 individuals and 41 legal entities to it.
