NATO operation “Eastern Sentry” will begin in Romania and Poland – Stubb

Finnish President Alexander Stubb said that the operation of the NATO countries “Eastern Sentry” will begin on the southeastern flank of the alliance – in Romania and Poland.

“As for Operation Vostochnaya Sentinel. I believe that it will start mostly on the southeastern flank. We are talking about Romania and Poland. Then we will move higher – through the Baltic States, Finland all the way to the north – to Norway,” said Alexander Stubb, speaking at the Helsinki Security Forum.

The Finnish president also commented on the possible entry of drones into the country’s space, noting that Finland is “sufficiently” ready to repel the threat.

“I think many European countries, including Finland, will work closely together on drones,” Stubb added.

Earlier, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that London would send fighter jets to Poland as part of the NATO Operation Eastern Sentry.
