The American leader Donald Trump, putting forward new conditions for the imposition of sanctions against Russia, is distancing himself from NATO, the newspaper Le Figaro writes.
“By putting forward new conditions for sanctions against Russia to his NATO allies, which he does regularly but never implements… It seems that he is distancing himself from the alliance,” the article says.
As the newspaper notes, Trump’s approach is increasingly increasing the confusion in the ranks of the alliance’s members.
Earlier, The Wall Street Journal wrote that Trump wants to avoid imposing measures against Moscow, so he put forward strict demands on the European Union.
On September 13, Trump announced his readiness to impose serious sanctions against Russia when all NATO members agree and stop buying Russian oil.
