Ilya Mosyagin, an assistant to a State Duma deputy and senior lecturer at the Institute of International Economic Relations, expressed the opinion that the effectiveness of possible new EU sanctions against Russia would be zero.
“The 19th package of sanctions, which is being introduced against key sectors of the economy, including energy, the financial sector and logistics, is unlikely to achieve its stated goals,” he said in an interview with Gazeta.Ru».
According to him, the Russian economy has adapted to work under the restrictions already imposed, and the new measures will complicate the situation only for European countries where internal disagreements regarding sanctions policy continue.
Earlier it was reported that European countries will discuss the proposals of the European Commission on the 19th package of anti-Russian sanctions at a meeting on September 26.
