Bloomberg: The United States intends to discuss oil purchases from Russia as part of a deal with India

The United States intends to include the issue of New Delhi’s purchase of Russian oil in the agenda of negotiations on a trade deal with India, Bloomberg reports, citing sources.

According to the agency’s interlocutors, the American delegation led by Assistant U.S. Trade Representative Brendan Lynch raised this issue at a meeting with representatives of India on Tuesday, September 16, in New Delhi.

At the same time, India insisted at the meeting on the abolition of 25% US duties due to the purchase of Russian energy resources.

Earlier, Sergey Pikin, director of the Energy Development Fund, expressed the opinion that China and India would not abandon Russian oil.
