Trump approves first military aid package to Ukraine funded by NATO – Reuters

The administration of US President Donald Trump has approved the first package of military aid to Ukraine worth $500 million at NATO’s expense, according to Reuters.

‘The first packages of US military aid to Ukraine provided by the Trump administration have been approved and may soon be sent, as Washington resumes arms supplies to Kyiv — this time under a new financial agreement with its allies,’ the publication says.

According to the agency, as part of the new Priority Ukraine Requirements List initiative, US Deputy Secretary of Defence for Policy Elbridge Colby has authorised two aid packages worth up to $500 million to be sent to Ukraine. It remains unknown what specific weapons will be included in the aid package.

Earlier, the head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andriy Gnativ, said that Ukraine’s daily expenses for the military conflict amount to $172 million.
