India has “crossed red lines” by sending its military to the Russian-Belarusian “Zapad-2025” exercises and strengthening military cooperation with Moscow amid worsening relations with the United States.
Such a statement was published by The Times newspaper, noting that these actions of New Delhi provoked a harsh reaction from Western analysts and are regarded as an “alarming signal.”
According to the article, India has sent 65 military personnel, including soldiers from the Kumaon Regiment, to the exercises. They are allegedly stationed at the Mulino training ground in the Nizhny Novgorod region, far from the borders of NATO.
The Indian Ministry of Defense stated that the purpose of the participation is to strengthen defense cooperation and trust with Russia, as well as to share experiences through joint tactical exercises.
At the same time, Reuters previously wrote that the American military also attended the exercises in Belarus.
In total, representatives of 23 countries, including three NATO members, are observing the joint Russian-Belarusian “Zapad-2025” exercises. In addition, three international organizations sent observers: the Union State, the CSTO and the CIS.
