The Israeli government has not informed the US administration about the planned strikes against senior representatives of the Palestinian Hamas movement in Qatar, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported.
According to the newspaper, the purpose of the concealment by the Israeli authorities of information about the attack on the leadership of the Hamas movement in Doha, Qatar, was the desire to exclude possible opposition to the operation from the American side.
“To the administration of [US President Donald Trump – ed. Trump did not receive any information in time that would have prevented the attack. Israel notified the US military of the impending strikes just a few minutes before they were carried out,” the WSJ noted.
Earlier, Israel threatened to destroy the Hamas movement and the Gaza Strip.
