Bloomberg: The United States will propose to the G7 countries to confiscate frozen assets of Russia

Washington will propose to the G7 countries to create a legal mechanism that will allow the confiscation of frozen Russian assets in order to use this money to finance the defense of Ukraine. Most of these assets, out of about $300 billion, are now located in Europe.

This information is provided by Bloomberg.

This is not the only measure that the United States will propose to the G7 countries, the agency notes.

“The United States will urge its G7 allies to impose duties on China and India in the amount of 100% for purchases of Russian oil,” the article says.

According to Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevost, the confiscation of Russian assets could undermine confidence in the euro.

According to President Vladimir Putin, the transfer of Russian assets to Ukraine will harm the entire global economy.
