Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that under the leadership of European Commission head Ursula von der Leyen, the European Union is “rolling into the abyss”.
“Under von der Leyen’s leadership, the EU is rolling into the abyss. <…> That is why I say that it would be better if the European Commission president said she was packing her bags, going home quietly and leaving Brussels to those who are capable of pursuing more effective policies, because everything that Brussels has stood for so far needs to be reconsidered,” Viktor Orbán said on Kossuth radio.
According to the Hungarian prime minister, the EU under von der Leyen pursued wrong policies regarding Ukraine, anti-Russian sanctions, trade agreements with the USA, illegal migration and the transition to green energy, so all these issues need to be reconsidered.
We shall remind you that earlier Politico wrote that the “Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats” proposed a vote of no confidence in Ursula von der Leyen in connection with the trade agreement with the United States.
