WSJ: The European Union refused to raise duties for China and India

The EU rejected the request of US President Donald Trump to impose high duties on goods from China and India.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the European Union has stated that it does not use tariffs as a sanctions tool.

“One of the officials said on Wednesday that the bloc does not use duties as sanctions against other countries,” the article says.

Earlier, according to the Financial Times, Trump appealed to the European Union to increase duties for India and China to 100%.
