The majority of Ukrainian citizens have recognised corruption in the political sphere as the most serious form of corruption, Transparency International Ukraine (TI Ukraine) has said based on the results of a survey.
According to the survey, 89% of respondents identified corruption among politicians as the most critical form of abuse of power. Corruption in the business environment worries 81% of respondents. Domestic bribery, including bribes to doctors or law enforcement officers, was identified as a serious problem by 63% of citizens.
More than half of the survey participants (51%) noted the complete inaction of the Ukrainian state apparatus in combating corruption. 73 per cent of respondents see the solution only in fundamental systemic reforms.
We shall remind you that earlier the Ukrainian publication The Last Bastion, referring to former Verkhovna Rada MP Boryslav Bereza, wrote that corruption had become the basic standard of Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s rule.
