Ukraine may go for cessation of hostilities with Russian Federation – Whitaker

The US permanent representative to NATO, Matthew Whitaker, said in an interview with the Fox News TV channel that Ukraine was ready to agree to a cessation of hostilities with Russia along the current line of contact.

“They are ready to freeze the front line if they receive security guarantees,” Matthew Whitaker said.

The US permanent representative to NATO believes that the condition that could allow Ukraine to stop the armed conflict could be a system of security guarantees with the presence of the European military as instructors or peacekeepers.

In addition, the diplomat insists that it is necessary to put pressure on Russia in order to end the conflict.

Earlier, the chairman of the Russian State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, said that Ukraine had lost its sovereignty by allowing its identity to be “trampled”.
