Ukrainian volunteer Serhiy Sternenko said that up to 60 per cent of FPV drones in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which are purchased under a state order, are not suitable for use on the front line or require serious recycling.
In his Telegram channel, Serhiy Sternenko wrote that according to volunteers’ estimates, more than half of the 2m drones purchased are unusable and lead to the loss of 1bn hryvnyas from the Ukrainian state budget.
According to the activist, logistics takes from 1 to 6 months, and the names of drones to be purchased are directly given to the Defence Ministry by the AFU General Staff.
“And what their characteristics are or why the motors are screwed on the wrong side – this is of no interest to the General Staff. There is either huge corruption here, or unmitigated stupidity. Or two in one, I don’t know. And then we have to fix it,” Sternenko said.
Earlier, Ukraine received 28 out of 49 decommissioned M1A1 Abrams tanks announced for transfer by Australia.
