India Today: A high alert has been imposed on India’s border with Nepal

A high alert has been imposed in India’s border region due to escalating anti-government unrest in Nepal, reports India Today.

 

“A high alert has been imposed at the India-Nepal border in Panitanki, West Bengal, amid ongoing unrest in Nepal,” the publication said.

According to the TV channel, an additional police post has been set up at the border and patrolling has been stepped up. Law enforcers are monitoring the situation.

Earlier, protesters in Nepal set fire to the residence of the country’s president.
