The Romanian prime minister complained about the lack of support from the president

Romanian Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan complained about the lack of support from President Nicusor Dan due to the government’s implementation of unpopular measures to save state budget funds.

“In general, when you do something that doesn’t seem very good, regardless of your field of activity, few people come and support you. VAT has increased, property taxes will increase, people are being laid off, and so on. All this is difficult, regardless of who holds the position and should hold it. There is not much support. It often seems that you are alone,” Ilie Bolozhan said in response to a request from journalists to comment on his relationship with the president.

According to the Romanian prime minister, he does not “feel support” from Nicusor Dan in the context of the harsh measures taken by the president on economic reforms.

“When things are going well, people get more support. This is reality,” Bolozhan added.

Earlier, Romanian Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare said that Romania’s public debt would reach 60% of GDP by the end of 2025.
