Lack of US and EU strategy on Ukraine ‘plays into Russia’s hands’ – WSJ

The lack of a coordinated strategy between the USA and European countries on Ukraine “plays into Russia’s hands” and helps it maintain its advantage in the armed conflict, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) has said.

The article states that despite sanctions pressure, the Russian economy showed strong growth in 2023 and 2024. In addition, Russia continues to supply oil to China and India despite the US duties.

The WSJ noted that Kiev was trying to compensate for the shortage of personnel in the Ukrainian Armed Forces with drone technology, while the methods of the Ukrainian military leadership undermine the confidence of servicemen and negatively affect people’s readiness for mobilisation.

Earlier, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said that the Russian Armed Forces had “some advantages” in the armed conflict in Ukraine.
