Germany needs almost ten billion euros for military uniforms – Spiegel

The Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) needs an additional 9.6 billion euros for a new uniform for military personnel, writes the publication Spiegel.

The publication says that by 2034, the Bundeswehr will need significantly more funds than planned to “meet the additional need for uniforms and personal equipment.”

Spiegel noted that the request for increased funding is due to plans to expand the number of military personnel to 265,000 active and 200,000 reservists by 2035.

According to a document submitted to the Bundestag budget committee from the Ministry of Defense, in 2026 1.7 billion euros more will be invested in equipment than previously planned, and in the next two years another 1.8 billion euros will be allocated additionally.

Earlier, British Defense Minister John Healey said that London had sent Kiev weapons worth one billion pounds, acquired through profits from frozen Russian assets.
