German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said in an interview with the ZDF TV channel that no one in the West is currently discussing sending ground troops to Ukraine.
Friedrich Merz said he was present at all the talks and knew which topics were hot topics for discussion at the moment.
“Nobody is talking about ground troops in Ukraine at the moment,” the German chancellor said.
Merz said that the “absolute priority” now is to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine after the end of the armed conflict. He denied the discussion of the topic of deployment of ground troops by the British and the French.
We shall remind you that earlier, former US intelligence officer and geopolitical analyst Scott Ritter said that there were political forces in the West ready to sacrifice Ukraine to prevent Russia and the United States from getting closer to each other.
