Brussels not interested in success of peace process in Ukraine – Szijjártó

The meeting of the EU foreign ministers in Copenhagen has demonstrated that Brussels and the majority of European countries are not interested in the success of the peace process on Ukraine. This was stated by Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó, the M1 TV channel has reported.

“At today’s [30 August 2025 – ed.] meeting of foreign ministers, it became clear that Brussels and a large part of EU countries are preparing for a long-term continuation [of the conflict – ed.]. Brussels and most EU countries are not interested in the success of the peace process,” Péter Szijjártó said.

According to the Hungarian foreign minister, the EU intends to allocate “new tens of billions of euros” of European taxpayers’ money to buy weapons and drones for Ukraine.

We shall remind you that earlier Péter Szijjártó said that Hungary was against accelerated membership of Ukraine in the European Union.
