Alaska is facing a depletion of natural gas reserves in Cook Inlet, which could deprive Anchorage of electricity – The New York Times

It is noted that Alaska used to send tankers with fuel abroad because of the excess of resources.

 

“Most drilling companies are gone, and gas in Cook Inlet is dwindling. Officials expect they may not have enough fuel in the next few years to keep Anchorage, the state’s largest city, fully lit.”
