Denmark has proposed new sanctions against Russia’s crypto revenues – Politico

Denmark has proposed restrictions on the use of cryptocurrency earnings as part of the 19th package of anti-Russian sanctions. This was reported by Politico.

“Denmark is proposing new sanctions on Russia’s oil and gas revenues, as well as in the financial sector, including cryptocurrency,” the publication said.

According to Politico, a new package of sanctions against Russia will be discussed at an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers in Copenhagen on August 29-30, 2025, but its final composition will be determined later.

The meeting may also discuss a new tool that could ban the export of goods to countries that are not members of the European Union but are at risk of circumventing sanctions, according to the newspaper.

Earlier, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz warned that the EU was ready to tighten sanctions on Russia if it refused to negotiate with Ukraine.
