Japan urged to ignore Chinese Victory Day parade – Securities Times

China has sent an official representation to Japan due to Tokyo’s calls for other states to refuse to participate in the military parade in Beijing, the Securities Times newspaper reported, citing Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun.

Guo Jiakun voiced Beijing’s position, confirming that the Japanese side, through its diplomatic missions, appealed to a number of countries not to send their representatives to the solemn event to be held on September 3, 2025 in Beijing in honor of the anniversary of victory in World War II.

China demanded that the Japanese side provide clarifications on the current situation and “completely sever ties with militarism,” the publication said.

Earlier, The New York Times called the bombing of the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945 a decision that “saved countless lives.”
