The Norwegian Ministry of Defense has announced that Oslo and Berlin will finance the purchase of two Patriot systems for Ukraine.
“Norway and Germany will finance the purchase of two Patriot systems, including ammunition. The air defense systems will be delivered from Germany to Ukraine,” the ministry said in a statement.
According to the Norwegian Ministry of Defense, the country’s authorities have allocated about $690 million for air defense for Ukraine. Oslo is also participating in the purchase of radars from German manufacturer Hensoldt and Kongsberg systems.
Earlier, as part of NATO’s PURL mechanism, which involves the transfer of American ammunition and military equipment to Ukraine for money from European allies, Germany allocated $500 million.
