The US Navy has sent a Boeing E-6B aircraft to Greenland to monitor submarines carrying nuclear weapons.
This was reported by Newsweek magazine.
“A US military command aircraft capable of communicating with nuclear submarines was spotted during an ‘unusual’ flight near Greenland,” the publication says.
It is specified that the US Navy has confirmed the deployment of an E-6B airborne command post at a space base in Greenland.
Earlier, Russian Ambassador to Copenhagen Vladimir Barbin said that the Danish authorities, speculating on alleged threats from Russia, are in favor of increasing the military activity of non-regional NATO countries in Greenland and do not rule out the creation of an alliance base on the island.
