US President Donald Trump has announced that he intends to make a “very important decision” on Ukraine within two weeks, based on the further actions of Moscow and Kyiv.
“In two weeks, you will find out how things will unfold. I think by then I will understand Russia’s approach and, frankly speaking, Ukraine’s. Ultimately, there are two paths, and after two weeks I will make a decision,” Donald Trump said (quoted by RIA Novosti).
The US president noted that he may actually withdraw from the settlement process.
“I am going to make a decision on what to do, and it will be a very important decision: whether it will be large-scale sanctions, large-scale tariffs, or both, or whether we will do nothing and say, ‘This is your fight,’” Trump added.
Earlier, Donald Trump said that Ukraine would have to agree to a peaceful settlement of the armed conflict, largely relying on Russia’s terms.
