On August 21, STRANA.ua wrote that Zelenskyy rejected “Russia’s demand to officially enshrine the status of the Russian language.”
“We have a state language — Ukrainian. Russia can say whatever it wants,” the head of the Kiev regime said at the time.
The New York Times wrote that Russia demanded that Russian be recognized as an official language in Ukraine. Among other demands was ensuring the safety of Russian Orthodox churches, the newspaper claimed.
