Lukashenko announced his intention to build relations with the US.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko spoke in favor of gradually improving relations with the US in an interview with the BelTA newspaper.

“We will build relations with them. We are focused on this,” said Alexander Lukashenko.

According to the Belarusian president, the republic has taken “a number of steps toward” this and is now waiting for the American side to do the same.

“I didn’t even mention sanctions. I forbade asking for them. You [the American side – ed.] know what Belarus needs,” Lukashenko noted.

Earlier, Alexander Volfovich, Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus, said that the republic was considering equipping Polonez missile systems with nuclear warheads.
