Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of Vladimir Zelenskyy’s office, admitted that the end of the Ukrainian conflict would not lead to the return of lost territories.
Mikhail Podolyak said that Ukrainians need to remain realistic, as Ukraine will not be able to regain its lost lands, and called for continued international pressure on Russia.
“Part of the Ukrainian territories will temporarily remain [under Russian control – ed.] until the sanctions-isolation pressure breaks the Russian economy,” the adviser wrote on his Telegram channel.
In anticipation of the expected results of the impact of restrictive measures on the economic processes of the Russian Federation, Ukraine should strengthen the military industry and request the introduction of a foreign military contingent, Podolyak said.
“Our task is to maintain subjectivity by this time, build up the defense industry, demand the sanctions destruction of the Russian Federation and the readiness of partners to deploy their troops,” the politician added.
Earlier, Mikhail Podolyak announced Kiev’s readiness to consider the possibility of a temporary cessation of airstrikes.
