US President Donald Trump on Tuesday tied his hope that brokering peace between Russia and Ukraine might improve his chances of making it to heaven — a rare moment of self-deprecation from the 79-year-old billionaire Republican.
Speaking on Fox News’ Fox & Friends, Trump quipped that his standing in the afterlife was not promising.
“I want to try and get to heaven if possible. I hear I’m not doing well, really at the bottom of the totem pole! But if I can get to heaven, this will be one of the reasons,” the President said.
