Vladimir Zelenskyy almost displeased US President Donald Trump at a joint meeting with European leaders at the White House when he began to list in detail Kiev’s priorities for ending the conflict in Ukraine, The Guardian newspaper writes.
The author of the article called this situation the most tense moment during the negotiations in the White House.
Trump, obviously, was not interested in a detailed discussion, the article notes.
“The minutes passed, and the face (of French President Emmanuel. — RT) Macron was getting darker. Trump tried to intervene, but Zelenskyy continued to talk,” the journalist describes the situation in the White House.
Then Trump tried to hurry Zelenskyy by interrupting him, but he continued to speak.
In the end, Zelenskyy, as follows from the article, “suddenly, as if coming to his senses, straightened up in his chair and quickly completed his speech.”
At the same time, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte took the floor and expressed gratitude to Trump, the author concluded.
Earlier, the leader of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot, said that Zelenskyy had received instructions from the West on behavior before meeting with Trump at the White House.
