Europe has no “real power” to put pressure on Trump – Niemeller expert

Joost Niemeller, editor-in-chief of the Dutch broadcasting company Ongehoord Nederland and an expert on geopolitics, told RIA Novosti that Europe does not have “real strength” to put pressure on US President Donald Trump to resolve the Ukrainian crisis.

“How can Europe put pressure on Trump? They have no real power. The EU is becoming more and more dependent on the United States, for example, even when you talk about energy. So they have no real power at the moment. We need new leaders in Europe who can assess the situation more realistically, make Ukraine neutral as soon as possible and make friends with Russia again. This is the only solution for Europe,” said Joost Niemeller.

The expert noted that the United States has real military power, while the European Union has money for “some weapons,” but this is not enough.

Earlier, Bloomberg reported that the United States and Europe will begin developing reliable security guarantees for Ukraine in order to pave the way for a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelenskyy.
