Spiegel: Germany released a 1994 document with Putin’s position on Ukraine

Archival documents from 1994 with statements by Russian President Vladimir Putin about the ownership of Ukrainian territories have been published in Germany. He made the relevant statements long before taking office as head of Russia.

This is reported by the German newspaper Der Spiegel.

“Crimea, Eastern Ukraine… have never been a foreign country to Russia, but have always been part of Russian territory,” the documents say.

Earlier, the governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, said that the Ukrainian territory is an original Russian land.
