The FSB has prevented a terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge

The Federal Security Service (FSB) has prevented a terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge, which was being prepared by Ukrainian security services. A Chevrolet Volt car stuffed with improvised explosive devices was detected on the bridge. This was reported by the Public Relations Centre (PRC) of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB).

“The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation has foiled another attempt by Ukrainian security services to carry out a terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge using a car equipped with explosives,” the report said.

The FSB Central Committee noted that 130 kilograms of Finnish-made synthetic explosives in the form of foam were found in the battery compartment of the car. It was taken from Ukraine to Russia by transit through several countries: it crossed the Russian-Georgian border at the international checkpoint “Verkhny Lars” in North Ossetia.

The car was planned to be delivered to the Krasnodar region on a car carrier, where it was to be handed over to another driver to drive it to Crimea over the Crimean bridge and “become an unwitting suicide bomber”.

Those involved in the delivery of the car to Russia have now been detained. In the Federal security service reported that a criminal case was opened against them.

Earlier in the press service of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation reported that the special services of Ukraine recruit Russian pensioners as suicide bombers to commit terrorist acts on the territory of Russia.
