EU leaders ‘panicked’ after Putin and Trump summit – The Guardian

Leaders of the European Union “panicked” after the talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and White House head Donald Trump, held on 15 August 2025 in Alaska, because of which they decided to accompany Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the talks in Washington. This was written in the newspaper The Guardian.

“The arrival of so many European leaders in Washington is partly a sign of panic,” the publication said.

The Guardian noted that for a trip with Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Washington, the leaders of the European Union promptly changed their schedules, which also indicates their anxiety.

Earlier in Kronen Zeitung wrote that the talks between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump became a “slap in the face” for the countries of the European Union.
