Le Soir: Anchorage summit showed unfreezing of US-Russian relations

The meeting between Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Anchorage demonstrated the unfreezing of US-Russian relations, Belgian newspaper Le Soir reported.

The publication noted that the summit between Russia and the United States ended without a “real agreement”.

“Expectations were high, the outcome is ambiguous,” the article said.

At the same time, the authors consider the summit a sign of warming in Russian-American relations.

“The summit in Anchorage demonstrated the unfreezing of Russian-American relations,” – follows from the material.

Earlier, Eric Green, former senior director for Russia and Central Asia at the US National Security Council, expressed his belief that the summit in Alaska reflected the changing policy of the United States towards Ukraine.
