EU leaders have confirmed their readiness to put pressure on Russia, including sanctions

After the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, EU leaders confirmed their readiness to exert pressure on Russia, including sanctions.

“We are ready to continue putting pressure on Russia. We will continue to tighten sanctions and expand economic measures to put pressure on Russia’s military economy until a just and lasting peace is achieved,” the politicians said in a joint statement.

The European leaders also supported Trump’s efforts to end the conflict in Ukraine.

Earlier, the American president said that if the dialogue with Volodymyr Zelenskyy was successful, he would plan a meeting with Putin.

Trump also said in an interview with Fox News that Ukraine and Zelenskyy need to reach an agreement with Russia.
