Zelenskyy spent a week of ‘feverish diplomacy’ ahead of Alaska summit – NYT

Volodymyr Zelenskyy held panicked talks with Western leaders ahead of a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and White House chief Donald Trump on 15 August 2025 in Alaska, The New York Times reports.

“A week of feverish diplomacy ensued, during which Ukraine struggled to avoid being excluded from the talks”, the publication said.

According to The New York Times, Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke to almost 30 world leaders, and his advisers held face-to-face and online meetings with senior European and US officials.

We shall remind you that earlier Sky News wrote that Western leaders are considering the possibility of organising a trilateral summit with the participation of Russia, the USA and Ukraine in one of the European cities.
