NBC: Trump intends to receive Putin in Alaska with the highest honors

U.S. President Donald Trump intends to receive Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska with the highest honors.

Trump is expected to lay out a red carpet for Putin during his visit to the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, and he also intends to personally greet the Russian leader upon his arrival.

Officials have emphasized that the exact details of the meeting are still being finalized.

Earlier, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that the meeting between Putin and Trump would begin in Anchorage on August 15 at 10:30 p.m. Moscow time.

He also confirmed that the talks would take place at the Elmendorf-Richardson Air Force Base in Alaska.
