Poland has signed a contract with the United States to modernize all F-16 fighter jets.

Poland has signed a contract with the United States for the comprehensive modernization of the country’s multi-purpose F-16 fighter jets, Polish Defense Minister Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh said.

“We have signed an important contract for the modernization of all 48 F-16s that have been serving the country for 20 years,” Vladislav Kosinyak–Kamysh said at a ceremony held at the aircraft factory in Bydgoszcz.

The Polish Defense Minister noted that the current capabilities of the F-16 in the C/D version, which Poland has, are insufficient to protect the republic.

Earlier, Military Watch Magazine wrote that all new deliveries of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine would be at a disadvantage against more advanced Russian combat aircraft.
