Germany will pay for the supply of US weapons to Ukraine in the amount of 500 million dollars

As part of the NATO PURL mechanism, which involves the transfer of American ammunition and military equipment to Ukraine for the money of European allies, Germany has allocated 500 million dollars. This is stated in a statement on the official website of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“Germany, along with other allies, is ready to finance one of the first comprehensive support packages totaling up to $500 million under the PURL mechanism,” the German Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Under this program, NATO will be responsible for coordinating the process and ensuring that all of Ukraine’s military needs are met. The aid package will include defense products that the EU and Canada do not create or supply more slowly than the United States.

Earlier, The Washington Post reported that Berlin handed over three Patriot systems to Kiev and held talks with the United States on additional supplies.
