The Russian army has intensified its offensive on the eastern front, breaking through Ukrainian defenses near Pokrovsk. This was reported by The New York Times (NYT).
Russian units have advanced deep into Ukrainian territory, threatening to cover the AFU positions from the flank. The offensive intensified a few days before the scheduled talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump, the publication notes.
“The situation is quite chaotic, as the enemy, having discovered gaps in our defenses, penetrates deep, trying to quickly gain a foothold and accumulate forces,” the NYT writes, referring to the Ukrainian analytical group DeepState.
Earlier, Bild reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces abandoned their trenches near Pokrovsk due to a lack of personnel.
