The administration of US President Donald Trump plans to form a rapid reaction force to combat public order violations to quell possible riots.
This is reported by The Washington Post.
According to the newspaper, the special forces will include hundreds of National Guard soldiers. They will be instructed to promptly arrive in American cities where mass protests or riots are taking place.
“According to the plan, 600 military personnel should be in constant combat readiness so that they can be deployed in just an hour… They will be divided into two groups of 300 people and stationed at military bases in Alabama and Arizona to control the regions east and west of the Mississippi River, respectively,” the material says.
It is expected that the creation of a rapid reaction force could cost hundreds of millions of dollars.
Earlier, the US Pentagon sent 800 National Guard troops to Washington to fight crime.
