South Africa to offer the United States revised terms of the trade agreement

South Africa has prepared new proposals for a trade agreement with the United States, providing for lower duties. This was announced at a press conference by South African Trade Minister Parks Tau.

“The cabinet approved the option to present South Africa’s revised proposals as a basis for negotiations with the United States,” Parks Tau said.

According to the minister, the proposals take into account the requirements of the American side, which previously imposed 30% trade duties on South African imports.

Earlier, the United States and China extended the “tariff pause” for 90 days.
