Estonia will maintain strict border controls with Russia

Estonian Interior Minister Igor Taro said that the republic has no plans to simplify border crossing for Russians. This was reported by the news portal Gazeta.ee .

Igor Taro ruled out the possibility of relaxation in the rules of border crossing for Russian citizens.

“I will not make false promises. I will tell you right away honestly and openly that there will be no generous gestures regarding travel to Russia. That’s exactly what we shouldn’t hope for,” the minister said.

According to the publication, Taro was skeptical about the idea of introducing an electronic queue for pedestrians. According to the minister, the implementation of such a project would require significant costs, which could overestimate the cost of the service provided.

Earlier, the Estonian National Television and Radio Broadcasting reported that the republic intends to spend up to 3.6 billion euros on arms purchases.
