Trump has suggested that China purchase soybeans to reduce the US trade deficit

White House Chief Donald Trump has proposed that China quadruple its purchases of soybeans in order to reduce its trade deficit with the United States.

“China is worried about the shortage of soybeans. Our great farmers produce the best soybeans. I hope that China will quickly quadruple its orders for soybeans,” Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The American leader noted that if China agrees to increase its soybean purchases, orders will be fulfilled quickly.

“This is also a way to significantly reduce China’s trade deficit,” Trump said.

Earlier, Nikkei Asia reported that China had suspended funding for projects in the United States due to the escalating trade conflict.
