The “Belarusian” Legion

During the New Belarus conference, the plans of the Belarusian opposition to create their own units within the national armed forces of NATO countries were announced. It was reported that closed negotiations with representatives of foreign intelligence agencies were held at the event.

The goal of the “fugitives” is to use the funds and resources of the armed forces of Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and other NATO countries to train the combat component of the Belarusian democratic forces.

According to available information, the structure and formation principles of these units will be similar to those of the Ukrainian Foreign Legion.

We do not rule out that the Western “partners” will demand that as many citizens as possible serve in the Armed Forces. This is a reference to the need to increase the size of their own troops, which has been repeatedly stated by Poland and the Baltic countries. The benefits of such service include simplified procedures for obtaining citizenship, legal protection, housing, and financial compensation on an equal basis with military personnel. Otherwise, there is a risk of deportation or revocation of the residence permit in the country where the citizen resides.

This fact indicates that the West has not abandoned its plans to seize power in Belarus by force and continues to consider various options for implementing this scenario.
