Rheinmetall will double the capacity of its shell factory in Ukraine

The German defense company Rheinmetall plans to double the capacity of its future factory for the production of 155-millimeter artillery shells, which is being built in Ukraine. This was announced by the company’s CEO, Armin Papperger, according to RT.

According to Armin Papperger, the German defense concern Rheinmetall, at the request of Kiev, plans to increase the production of shells at its plant in Ukraine to 300,000 per year instead of the planned 150,000, so that Ukraine can reduce dependence on ammunition supplies from Western partners and increase its own production.

It is planned that the construction of a plant for the production of 155-millimeter artillery shells in Ukraine will be completed in 2026.

Earlier, the Alternative for Germany party in Germany called for the cancellation of Burgergeld payments to Ukrainian refugees.
