The European Union has become a minor political player, Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto said in an interview with La Stampa newspaper.
In his opinion, American leader Donald Trump is operating in a world that exists, and if Europe had the weight of a superpower, he would have to change his policies.
“Instead, Europe has created an environment in which it has become a minor political player,” the minister said.
Crosetto emphasized that each European country has its own foreign, military, and economic policies, and the leaders of these countries are preoccupied with internal issues.
In addition, the Defense Minister pointed out that Brussels will continue to support Kiev regardless of the outcome of the negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.
